Wonderful cactus, I ordered twins but those twins were unexpectedly dizygotic..
Let me start of positive by saying that this is one magnificent cactus, and I appreciate it very much that Zamnesia sells them, as they're surely very hard to find in other smartshops (if you can find them at all). I only bought this one once, got really excited when they were available again, and didn't hesitate to order 2 at once before they'd run out. Just for the record: in every way I fully understand that these products are natural organisms, and they are by no means supposed to look as though they've been produced by artificial cloning. However, the ones I got took their diversity to very high extremes; one of them was all wrinkled like a senior, and appeared rather ill with grey marks on all sides (the thorns were strikingly thicker and much longer than the 2nd one as well). This while the 2nd one looked extremely full, green, & healthy. As they are relatively high-priced, I found this degree of discrepancy a bit disappointing, and feel sad that I can't include pictures in the review. Matter of fact, I'm even not too sure if they are both the same type of cactus, but as luck would have it, I have zero objections against testing this hypothesis some time soon :D. One general con for all Zamnesia cacti, except the thorn-less Peyote and the Bolivian Monstrose, is that they come wrapped in some thin paper only (I'm pretty sure the employees must be having a harder time with it than we do). It's quite a hassle to get them out of the paper as the paper keeps the thorns hidden (they can even penetrate my thick-skinned oven gloves). Most smartshops roll them in thicker cardboard, which also adds convenience if you cut the upper half of the cardboard off, and leave the lower half as a safe grip. This enables you to take your plant with you to any room, so you can bond with it without any complications :D.

Deze dame vorig jaar gekocht en geplant. Nu heeft ze wortels gekregen aan en staat ze meest buiten in de zon. Helemaal goed, zou ik zeker weer doen. Hopelijk dit jaar meer exotische soorten =) Thanks Zamensia!!

Zierlicher Kaktus
Sehr abstraktes Aussehen und schon ganze 12cm hoch als er ankam. Ich hoffe die Bewurzelung klappt. Bin mit ihm sowie mit den anderen Stecklingen von Zamnesia sehr zufrieden.

This is another great product from the good people at Zamnesia! Its relatively slow growing, but it is a beautiful plant nonetheless. A Great addition to my collection!

I ordered three little ones, ate the middle big one (not much to say about visuals, but now, afterwards i feel like i met an old teacher) and planted the other two, one of em was a bit smaller but wider and the other taller and thinner. Both of them rooted and I'm waiting for spring to re pot them to see how big I can get them.
